Darren Mulvenna

January - February 2015


Darren creates organic, surreal pieces inspired by the people and places he visits. Traveling helps saturate his palette and explore roads unknown.

Submissions
Flytrap features five curated solo exhibits each year, with local artists rotating every two months. The last show of the year is a jurried art show displaying works by Cape Fear Community College art students.

We are seeking submissions for 2018 solo exhibits. 
To be considered for a show, please send an email of interest to events@flytrapbrewing.com with a short bio, artist statement and link to your website or portfolio. All submissions will be reviewed. However, due to volume, we may not be able to respond to each submission.

Richard Welsh

September-October 2016


Crooked Hand Instruments is a surprise marriage of carpentry and music. In 1993, Rheumatoid Arthritis stripped Richard of his ability to play guitar and later his profession as a carpenter. Never one to let the disease beat him, he picked up the dobro and a new passion for creating Crooked Hand Instruments.



Nick Mijak

January-February 2017


Nick Mijak is a self-taught artist often found painting outside along the riverwalk. Using colors borrowed from nature, abstract forms and a loose technique, he has developed a unique style seen.



Gaeten Lowrie

July-August 2017


Using his signature pen & ink style, Gaeten collages together dreamlike landscapes, waterfalls, wildflowers, butterflies, sea turtles and the like. These alcohol inks result in prismatic stained-glass-like qualities.

Katie Martin

Katie Martin received her B.A. in Studio Art from UNCW. She explores the natural beauty of her surroundings to gain inspiration, and strives to consistently push the limits of color, light and contrast in her work.

David Mercer
January - February 2016


David Mercer is a self taught artist from Surf City, NC best known for his fun and colorful portraits. Mercer's collection was influenced by the fictitious and dysfunctional Bluth family in "Arrested Development."




Zach Duff

September - October 2017 | Opening Reception September 7  6:00-9:00pm


Trained in painting by both the local Community College and University, as well as at the Academy of Art of San Francisco, the outdoor enthusiast has found a way to combine his passions for art and the study of all living things."Wild Carolina," is an exhibition by Zak Duff benefiting the Cape Fear River Watch. Featuring animals found in North and South Carolina, each watercolor is painted on repurposed NOAA Charts or recycled paper. There will be 100 paintings, all for $100 or less. Duff will donate 10% of proceeds to the CFRW.
